Manhattan Ensemble Theater (MET) is dedicated to the creation of new American plays by mining that 'mother lode' of great stories – the powerful and universal narratives found in fiction, journalism, film, biography and memoir: tales lying in wait to be born as works for the stage. In so doing, MET hopes to provide a home for the ongoing development of the dramatization as a literary form in American theater.
Whether on Broadway, across the U.S., or in various Off-Broadway spaces in NYC, MET has, to date, presented world, American or New York-premieres to over one million American theatergoers.
MET is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, a member of the Theatre Communications Group, and a member of A.R.T./New York.
